Research Interests

My research interests are in developing new neuro-symbolic AI hybrids that combine the best capabilities of neural networks with the explainability and composability of symbolic programs. My goal is to build systems that are more flexible and less data intensive than current supervised learning techniques. I believe these techniques will make AI more versatile, more 'green' and allow it to be run on less capable edge devices such as in the Internet of Things. I am also passionate about building interest and understanding of Science , Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) topics and careers in students and in the general public.
