Research Description: Donna’s research focuses on the development of new computational tools to improve the understanding of human-induced changes on natural systems and the way we make decisions about natural resources. In 1995, she co-founded a small Vermont business to help speed the diffusion of research and new technologies into environmental practice. She has 25+ years of experience with geostatistics, machine-learning algorithms, and multi-objective optimization methods, which provide stakeholders with a suite of "optimal" solutions rather than a single design, allowing consideration of the trade-offs between costs, risks, and assumptions.
