Other Resources for Youth Engagement in STEM

The maker faire is a gathering of curious people who as life-long learners want to share what they can do with others.  Participants and attendees of the Faire include engineers, scientists, artists, and crafters who convene to showcase their inventions, creativity and resourcefulness.
Generator offers opportunities at the intersect of art, science and technology by providing artist studios, classrooms, and business incubators with the tools, expertise and education that is necessary for community members to create, collaborate, and make their ideas a reality.
The Vermont Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Fair is an inquiry-based poster presentation competition open to all middle and high school students throughout the state of Vermont.  This fair presents exciting opportunities for aspiring young scientists in grades 5-12 to showcase the results of their independent research, and to connect with STEM career professionals.
FIRST Tech Challenge encourages student teams of 15 members (grades 7-12) to design, build, program, and operate robots for subsequent head-to-head competitions in an alliance format.  Students are guided by adult coaches and mentors as they develop STEM skills, practice engineering principles, realize the value of hard work, and work as a team member.
The Burlington Technical Center provides students with opportunities to explore careers and acquire skills in various technical programs of study.  All students are supported in working toward individual goals through immersive, hands-on investigation with highly trained professional instructors working in state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories.
